    I equate taking in new interesting stimulus to filling up your car with gas; it’s essential. Sure you can get away with not filling up for awhile, but you will run out of creative fuel, and you never know exactly when.

    As an industrial / graphic designer I refuel with TED Talks, car magazines, Core77.com, and HGTV / Discovery Channel. If I see an interesting image, I photograph it or download it and put it in a file for my screensaver. Nice mid day creative “pick me ups.”

    It also helps to put creative inspiration time right on the calender, I really do think it is just as important as other work elements. TED Talks is a great suggestion, that always gets my mind moving in new directions.
