Just back from an amazing week in Pittsburgh, Podcamp Pittsburgh and VisitPittsburgh.com invited myself and 7 other social media movers and shakers for a week of exploration and fun.

Chris Brogan — one of the few people who can legitimately be referred to as a “social media guru”
Grace Piper — irreverent hostess of Fearless Cooking
Jim Russell — blogger, economist and Rust Belt expert
Jonny Goldstein — blogger and former host of “It’s Jonny’s Partay” webcast
Marc and Fausto from Feast of Fools — hosts of America’s #1 GLBT podcast
Nathan King of blip.tv — representing the web’s emerging TV network
Lots of thanks to the two peeps who made it all happen, Justin Kownacki of Podcamp Pittsburgh and Kristen Mitchell of VisitPittsburgh.com

Pittsburgh is an amazing city with a very diverse and rich arts and business community. Highlights are many but certainly the Festival of Firsts was amazing as was the Andy Warhol Museum. If you are a media artist (or a fan of my Media Artist Secrets) who wants to move from creating content to making it into a business, the museum is hugely inspirational. If you are into social media, read up on and study Warhol. For real. This is his quote:
“Business art is the step that comes after Art. I started as a commercial artist, and I want to finish as a business artist. Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art”

One of the most amazing art events I went to was the Theater of the Senses. Hard to explain, but do check it out if you can, its like a living play that you are a character in. You walk alone from experience to experience in a large environment and interact with characters, sounds, lights…pretty much covering all of your senses.
Check out some of the links above and check out some of the videos and pictures below. Thanks Pittsburgh for such a great week!
